    Treatments

    Studied treatment thoracic endovascular repair (TEVAR) with a stent graft plus optimal medical therapy
    TEVAR using TALENT stent grafts (Medtronic) with optimal medical therapy. Stent grafts used to scaffold <=20cm of dissected aorta and to seal major arteries
    Control treatment optimum medical management
    tight blood-pressure control and close surveillance

    Patients

    Patients patients with stable uncomplicated type-B aortic dissection (dissection of the descending aorta)
    Inclusion criteria Uncomplicated type B dissection between 2 and 52 weeks after onset
    Exclusion criteria Traditional indications for open or endovascular surgery (diameter >=6cm), with recurrent acute complications; anatomy unsuitable for TEVAR
